The two day training course covers the following sessions:
- Safe Behaviour At work
- A Safe Place Of Work
- Safe Systems Of Work
- Safety Problems & Safe Solutions.
The CCNSG Safety Passport course involves the active participation of all delegates. Taking part guarantees a basic knowledge of health & safety, and related issues, for all personnel work-ing on an engineering construction site.
In doing so it supports site induction, and means employees pose less risk not just to themselves, but to their colleagues also. The award of the Safety Passport is subject to the candidate successfully completing an 80 question multiple-choice test paper, with the question content and level set by the participating client safety experts on the CCNSG.
Successful candidates receive a plasticised photographic pass that is valid for three years and transferable across sites – an invaluable tool for both employers and employees in this highly mobile and geographically dispersed industry. A one-day ‘Renewal’ course can be taken to keep knowledge up to date, enhance employee motivation and maintain CCNSG Safety Passport holder status.
Supervisors on a CCNSG Safety Passport course receive additional training which emphasises their pivotal role in establishing good health & safety practices and procedures by supervising site and project safety. This additional day for supervisors covers the following sessions:
- Planning for safety
- Communicating safety and
- Could do better – learning from our mistakes and identifying the cause.
The ECITB maintains the national CCNSG training database. As with all ECITB courses, the 100 plus training providers that deliver the CCNSG Safety Passport are approved, rigorously monitored and audited.
